Seven Passes and Sunday Lunch
The weather played along and kept the cold front at bay for just long enough. Sunday Morning at 11 the Dual Sport Bikers met at the designated spot in the middle of George.
These guys have nice rides! Some of the bikes not seen in my ride reports before:
Dusty:
Pad:
Eyeguy:
Digdirt:
We were on the new TranAlp and Clinton on one of two Honda NXR’s
Mrs. Trailrider was loving the TransAlp & once again with her as pillion we had the advantage of “in ride” photography.
The bike corners nicely as well…
The route starts with the lovely Saasveld road. It’s tarred, but it has great scenery!
Before long we hit the dirt!
Our first stop was to rendezvous with LGF. Another nice ride!
Eyegal (pillion on the Super Tenere)
Enjoying the ride:
SCP, Mrs Digdirt, Digdirt
The lovely
The route has intermittent tarred sections…
… but enough dirt to keep everybody happy.
Mr. & Mrs. Digdirt were enjoying the ride
… so was Eyeguy & Eyegal…
… and Sir & Lady Gravelot.
To me the nice thing about the Wild Dog forum riders is that we all just ride together, regardless of brand, age or cc’s. We had Honda’s, BMW’s, KTM, Yamaha & Kawasaki. We had 125 to 1200cc and we had riders that were young and riders that were young at heart.
Dusty & Pad
Let’s hit the road! (And what a road it is)
And finally into Knysna where a nice lunch at Crab’s Creek awaited.
Great setting, great people, great ride, great weather and great food.
What better way to spend a day?

The Power of Dreams
23 June - Race Day!
Everybody was very excited. It's the first time we've been to such an event and it was quite overwhelming. Lots of people, lots of bikes, lots of noise, lots of dirt & dust and of course - lots of smiles.
Practice runs, heats etc etc. Luckily everything was explained well in the riders briefing.
Eventually it was time to race! Johann is the 3rd rider from the other side looking at the camera.
And they're off! (Not quite as fast as the big boys...)
For a first timer all went well. He wasn't first, but he wasn't last either (actually the only girl in the race won the whole damn thing). What a fun day.
He can't wait for his next race!
9 September 2007
His race number today was 50:
Even the marshals were riding around on 50's
Ready - who will get the holeshot?
The 1st race went well - he finished 4th.
There were lots of off's:
He also came of hard in the 2nd race and finished 2nd last with torn clothes and a broken ego But all & all a very enjoyable day.
